Understanding the operation
I worked from client meetings, documents, and stakeholder discussions. I reviewed requirements, mapped workflows in FigJam, returned with clarifying questions, and presented an application-architecture diagram before moving into screens.
Making roles distinct
The initial suggestion was that a receptionist could have the same access as a supervisor. I mapped the responsibilities to show why they needed different experiences: the receptionist records incoming products, while the supervisor checks quantity and condition, separates damaged items for return, and assigns storage. The client agreed after reviewing the architecture.
Designing the hierarchy
Warehouse managers oversee inventory operations and can request new items. Admins oversee multiple warehouse managers and warehouse availability. I proposed a separate Super Admin view for organization-wide visibility and role management. To manage delivery constraints, I reused the Admin dashboard structure and added the extra cards and menus needed for Super Admin.
Designing for real devices
Employees reported that some tablet buttons were too far from their fingers, so I adjusted button placement on affected pages. Wide tables also required too much horizontal scrolling, so I redesigned key views as cards that surfaced details more comfortably.
Iterations and delivery
I designed the core role experiences and presented them to the client. The Super Admin and role-management views received especially positive feedback. After a small number of iterations, the design was frozen and handed over for development; the product went live internally.
Outcome
A live internal warehouse and inventory system with role-aware workflows. No verified quantitative efficiency metrics are available, so the outcome is described in terms of delivered product scope rather than invented performance claims.
My contribution
End-to-end product design, workflow mapping, information architecture, role and permission thinking, interface design, iteration, and developer handoff.
